The God Delusion

The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins

Host: Matt H.

Date: July 30, 2008

Judges Score: 4/5 – A difficult read and an arrogant author, but good – overall everyone examined their own beliefs, gave acknowledgment to the dogma that they followed, and learned something new about evolutionary science or the history of organized religion.

Food & Drink: Poppa John’s pizza and snacks – Blue Moon beer seemed to be the popular favorite.

Guest Pugilist: Thanks to our special guest Mike S. for sharing his thoughts on God and religion (could have been difficult with a group of mostly strangers) and his kudos to Fight Club about how well read this group was and how thoughtful they were about the discussion.

Bill Maher’s Religulous (Religion + Rediculous) is now in theaters. Check out the trailer here:

When asked whether or not he beleives the Adam & Eve story is really true, Sen. Mark Pryor of Arkansas replies: “You don’t have to pass an IQ test to be in the Senate.”
